Just launched: A Valentine for Mister Gove

This is part 3 of the national campaign to persuade Mister Gove that the Arts are a valuable and integral and necessary part of the UK education system. So many people have supported the previous projects that I am ever hopeful that this will also attract support and interest.
I spent time on Friday, at the University of Sunderland, talking to students who are interested in creating films for the February State of the Arts Arts Council Conference. I was struck by how much it means to them all to be part of the art and design and media community in the University and how much they all loved what they did. There were Animators, Drama, and Glass/Ceramics students sitting with me and debating the actual state of the Arts in the UK and the world.
I was really refreshed after the session, I know that we have to continue to encourage young people to go with their hearts and not their heads when it comes to that need to be creative.
